RCK Consulting
Careers

Do senior-level work on projects worth showing up for.

RCK is a small, senior-led planning and controls practice with professional experience on some of the largest projects in the U.S. and the Middle East. We staff schedulers on real projects for general contractors, developers, and owners across Greater Los Angeles — and we're looking for people who take ownership of what the schedule says.

Work directly with senior planners

No layers. You'll work alongside professionals with 17+ years on $3B+ of built work — and learn how defensible schedules actually get made.

Project-based, by design

Engagements are scoped to a project or program. Hybrid by default: on site or in the client's office when the work needs it, remote otherwise.

Standards that hold up

P6 schedules with documented logic, basis-of-schedule narratives, and analysis prepared to AACE practice. Work you can put your name on.

Open roles

Two openings in Greater Los Angeles.

Both roles are contract / project-based, hybrid, and start on active engagements. Apply to whichever fits — or send a general application below.

Open role

Scheduler

  • 5+ years experience
  • Contract / project-based
  • Greater Los Angeles · Hybrid
  • Primavera P6
Apply for this role

You'll own the day-to-day schedule on one or two active projects: building and maintaining the P6 schedule, capturing progress in the field, and producing monthly updates and narratives that the owner and the superintendent can both read.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain CPM schedules in Primavera P6 (and MS Project when the contract calls for it), including baselines, look-aheads, and monthly updates
  • Walk the site, meet with superintendents and subs, and translate field progress into accurate activity status
  • Prepare monthly update packages: schedule narrative, critical path, variance, and trend reporting
  • Cost- and resource-load schedules to support pay applications and cash-flow forecasting
  • Support fragnets, what-if scenarios, and recovery schedules under the direction of the senior planner
  • Keep logic, calendars, and basis-of-schedule documentation clean and audit-ready

What you bring

  • 5+ years of construction scheduling on commercial, institutional, healthcare, or civil projects
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6; working knowledge of MS Project
  • Solid understanding of CPM logic, float, calendars, and schedule specifications
  • Comfortable in the field and in owner meetings — clear writer, clear communicator
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Based in or able to work regularly in Greater Los Angeles

Nice to have

  • Experience on public-agency or school-district projects (LAUSD, Caltrans, Metro, DSA-reviewed work)
  • Exposure to earned value, risk registers, or Power BI / Smartsheet reporting
  • PSP (AACE) in progress

Compensation commensurate with experience. Engagements are contract or project-based; full-time conversion is possible on longer programs.

Apply for this role

You'll lead planning and controls on a major project or program: setting up the baseline and controls system, running the update cadence, preparing Time Impact Analyses, and representing the schedule to owners, contractors, and — when needed — counsel.

What you'll do

  • Lead baseline development for new awards, including schedule-specification review, logic and calendar setup, and basis-of-schedule narrative
  • Run the monthly controls cadence: updates, narratives, EVM, risk register, and executive dashboards
  • Prepare Time Impact Analyses, fragnets, windows analyses, and as-planned vs. as-built for change orders and delay events
  • Develop recovery and re-sequencing strategies with the project team when the critical path slips
  • Present the schedule and its implications to owners, lenders, and agency representatives
  • Mentor the project scheduler and set the standard for documentation and defensibility

What you bring

  • 10+ years of planning, scheduling, and project controls on large or complex construction projects
  • Expert-level Primavera P6, including cost and resource loading, global changes, and claim-ready file management
  • Hands-on experience preparing TIAs and forensic delay analysis to AACE-recognized practice
  • Working knowledge of earned value management and quantitative schedule risk analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Able to lead owner and contractor meetings independently; excellent written narratives

Nice to have

  • PSP (AACE), PMI-SP, or equivalent certification
  • Experience on healthcare, aviation, transit, or K-14 education programs
  • Owner's-representative or agency-side controls experience
  • Claims, mediation, or expert-support experience
